AI Use Disclosure
Effective Date: April 22, 2026 | Last Updated: April 22, 2026
1. AI Features in Krasyn EMR
Krasyn EMR uses artificial intelligence in the following features:
- AI Scribe (Note Editor) — Drafts clinical note sections from visit context. All AI-drafted sections are clearly marked "AI DRAFT — review before signing" and cannot be submitted until a provider explicitly reviews and accepts them.
- AI Chart Summary — Generates a narrative summary of a patient's chart data for quick provider reference. Requires clinician review before clinical reliance.
- AI Visit Snapshot (Dashboard) — Provides a quick outpatient context snapshot for the current patient panel. Marked as AI-generated and requires clinician review.
- AI Follow-Up Plan — Suggests follow-up actions based on chart data. Advisory only; providers must review and approve before acting.
- Ambient Scribe — Transcribes and structures visit audio into note content. All output is AI-generated and requires provider review prior to signing.
2. AI Does Not Diagnose or Prescribe
AI features in Krasyn EMR are clinical decision-support tools. They do not:
- Diagnose medical conditions
- Prescribe medications or treatments
- Replace the judgment of a licensed healthcare provider
- Constitute medical advice to patients
3. Provider Review Requirements
All AI-generated content displayed in Krasyn EMR is subject to mandatory provider review before clinical use. The system enforces this through:
- Visual "AI DRAFT" badges on all AI-generated note sections
- Explicit review checkboxes before note signing
- Audit logs recording provider acceptance of AI-generated content
4. AI Model Information
Krasyn EMR uses large language models (LLMs) provided by third-party AI vendors. These models are accessed via HIPAA Business Associate Agreements (BAAs). AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations — always verify against primary clinical sources.
5. Data Privacy and AI
When AI features process patient data, they do so under our HIPAA BAA with AI vendors. De-identified or pseudonymized data is used where possible. Patient data is never used to train external AI models without explicit written consent. See our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices for full details.
6. Reporting AI Errors
If you encounter AI output that is clinically inaccurate, harmful, or inappropriate, please report it immediately using the feedback button in the application or contact info@krasyn.com (subject line: "AI Safety Report").
7. Regulatory Status
Krasyn EMR's AI features are clinical decision-support tools as defined under the 21st Century Cures Act. They are not FDA-cleared medical devices. Providers retain full clinical and legal responsibility for all patient care decisions.
8. Changes to This Disclosure
We will update this disclosure when we add or substantially modify AI features. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification.
